Investing Vocabulary
capital | money, property, etc., that is used to start or operate a business |
capital | the money, property, etc., that a person or business owns |
invest | to use money to earn more money : to use your money to purchase stock in a company, to buy property, etc., in order to make future profit |
stock | a share of the value of a company which can be bought, sold, or traded as an investment |
bond | an official document in which a government or company promises to pay back an amount of money that it has borrowed and to pay interest for the borrowed money |
interest | the money paid by a borrower for the use of borrowed money |
market | a place where products are bought and sold |
stock market | a system for buying and selling stocks or a place where stocks are bought and sold |
