Poem A piece of writing that usually has figurative language and that is written in separate lines that often have a repeated rhythm and sometimes rhyme

Rhyme
One of two or more words or phrases that end in the same sounds
a poem or song whose lines end in rhymes

Rhythm
A regular, repeated pattern of sounds or movements

Imagery
Language that causes people to imagine pictures in their mind

Verse Writing in which words are arranged in a rhythmic pattern : poetry
A part of a poem or song : stanza

Ode A poem in which a person expresses a strong feeling of love or respect for someone or something

Stanza A group of lines in a poem : verse
