Why is it important to wash hand well and frequently?
To kill bacteria and viruses that we pick up on our hands by touching things that surround us.
Clean hands prevent transfer of the viruses and bacteria to our face and eyes, nose, mouth where they can get into our bodies and grow and making us sick

Hand Washing Experiment
Materials
3 plastic sandwich bags - fresh, un used
3 slices of fresh bread that is not dried out
1 small set of tongs that can pick up and hold the bread
their phones iPad and chromebook
Take a fresh piece of bread and seal it in a plastic bag — handle only with the tongs. Take a fresh piece of bread, pick up by hand and touch it to iPhone iPad, doorknob to back door then put it in a plastic bag and seal it. Wash hands really well and wipe on a clean paper towel. Then pick up a slice of bread and put it inside a plastic bag and seal it. Put plastic bags in a warm place — kitchen window sill and let set for several days. Each day, check the bags and write an observation and take a photo Discuss changes over time.
